Why Choose a Deep Sea Fishing Vacation?

Why Choose a Deep Sea Fishing Vacation?

There’s an interesting Catch-22 associated with vacationing: By the time you’re retired and have the money to enjoy a good summer (or winter) trip, you’ve already been just about everywhere… Or at least everywhere within easy traveling distance. This causes many people to seek more exotic locations in which to spend their leisure time. Invariably, more people are considering our own “other countries”, Alaska and Hawaii.

The Good Old US of A

Increased security measures have made domestic travel difficult enough; with passports required even to cross into Mexico or Canada, or to sail to certain Caribbean destinations. Our 49th and 50th States, however, are open to travel to and from the mainland without any extraneous hassles or delays (generally speaking). Among all of the other things to see and do, in both places, deep sea fishing stands out as one of the more economically feasible – and the most memorable.

Part of the Bigger Picture

Vacation packages that are centered around a chartered deep sea fishing trip are quite popular in places like Petersburg, Alaska (home to Alaska Sea Adventures). The ruggedness of Alaskan fishing dovetails nicely with the amenities that make leave even the saltiest sailor feeling a bit pampered. As far as the Hawaiian Islands go, Oahu is one of the more popular locations, for a variety of reasons. Among them is the fact that the island’s North Shore offers some of the best tuna fishing to be found anywhere… Ah, what a country!
